Sadyr Zhaparov proposed that South Korea establish a medical centre in Kyrgyzstan and simplify the visa regime

On 16 September in Seoul, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov, held talks with the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae-myung.

The parties discussed the development of bilateral relations, including investment cooperation and the implementation of infrastructure projects.

During the meeting, Sadyr Zhaparov proposed establishing a joint medical centre in Kyrgyzstan with the South Korean side. He also proposed exploring opportunities to simplify visa procedures and expand exports of Kyrgyz goods to the South Korean market.

Lee Jae-myeong noted the development of cooperation between the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992. He also emphasised the importance of interaction between the investment agencies of the two states.

The President of South Korea congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.

Following the talks, the parties reaffirmed their interest in the further development of bilateral cooperation. Sadyr Zhaparov also invited Li Zhemen to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
