10/01/2026, 13:52President Sadyr Zhaparov has arrived in Los Angeles, where he will take part in events marking the launch of Kyrgyzstan’s first national satellite.
The satellite is due to be launched into orbit by a rocket from the American company SpaceX.
The launch is scheduled for 1 October from California. It was previously reported that the satellite was designed and assembled in Kyrgyzstan by the company ‘Kyrgyzstan Asman’ and will be used, amongst other things, to monitor agricultural land, pastures, water resources and the consequences of emergencies.
At Los Angeles Airport, the head of state was met by Rebecca Hunter, Director of Global Development at SpaceX.
The launch will mark the first time a Kyrgyz satellite has been placed into orbit.
