12/30/2024, 12:16The Cabinet of Ministers postponed the introduction of fines for the absence of a MTPL insurance policy for individuals from January 1 to July 1, 2025. From mid-2025, owners and drivers of cars registered in Kyrgyzstan will be fined 3,000 soms (30 estimated figures) for not having compulsory insurance.
Penalties for legal entities and vehicles with foreign registration are effective from April 2023. For legal entities, the fine is 13,000 soms (130 estimated figures).
The Financial Supervisory Authority urges to obtain a MTPL policy in advance to avoid fines and ensure insurance coverage in case of road accidents. The law on MTPL insurance has been in force since 2016 and is aimed at improving road safety in Kyrgyzstan.
