Deaths in private clinics. Ministry of Health calls for urgent action to rectify violations

The Ministry of Health has called on private medical institutions and clinics to urgently bring their activities into line with the law. This was prompted by frequent cases of infection with dangerous diseases, including HIV and hepatitis, as well as complaints from citizens about poor-quality treatment and fatalities in private clinics.

The Ministry of Health reminded that providing medical services without a licence is prohibited. This violation entails administrative or criminal liability, up to and including closure of the institution and imprisonment, especially if patients have suffered as a result of illegal practices.

"It is important to know that the licence must cover all types of medical services provided by the clinic or office. Medical staff must have the appropriate education, qualifications and certificates. The premises must comply with sanitary and technical standards," the Ministry of Health noted.

Illegal medical activities, especially those causing harm to health, are punishable under the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic by a fine, restriction of liberty or imprisonment for up to 8 years. Violations of licensing requirements are also punishable by fines ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 KGS.

The Ministry of Health urges citizens to seek only licensed specialists and entrepreneurs not to delay bringing their work into compliance with the law. Stay informed! Subscribe to our Telegram.
