Co-founder of Kaspi acquires 100% stake in Jusan Bank

Vyacheslav Kim, one of Kazakhstan's most prominent entrepreneurs and co-founder of Kaspi.kz, has completed the acquisition of Alatau City Bank (formerly Jusan Bank), the parent company of Optima Bank, which operates in Kyrgyzstan.

Alatau City Bank is one of Kazakhstan's top six banks in terms of assets and ranks third in terms of equity capital. According to the bank's press service, it is now under the control of Vyacheslav Kim, who bought 100% of the financial institution's shares from its former owner, Galimzhan Yesenov.

Commenting on the deal, Vyacheslav Kim noted that the acquisition of Alatau City Bank (Jusan Bank) is extremely important to him, and he plans to create a financial institution that is fundamentally new to the Kazakh market.

‘I am confident that we will succeed if we preserve all the best practices and focus on accelerated technological development,’ he said.

Optima Bank, whose main shareholder is First Heartland Jusan Bank with a 97.14% stake, assured that this deal won't affect its operations in Kyrgyzstan. All operations, obligations, and services will continue as usual, with no changes for customers.

‘Optima Bank continues to operate as usual. All obligations to customers are being fulfilled in full. Structural changes in the ownership of the parent bank do not affect our operations in Kyrgyzstan,’ the bank's press service said.
