‘Tamchy’ has taken first place in the region and second place worldwide among promising financial zones

The ‘Tamchy’ Special Financial Investment Zone has taken first place in the Asia-Pacific region and second place globally in the ‘Rising Stars’ category of the Global Free Zones of the Year 2026 ranking compiled by fDi Intelligence, an analytical centre part of the Financial Times Group.

Experts highlighted the strategy for attracting residents, the business environment and tax incentives, including a zero corporation tax rate for a period of 49 years. “Tamchy” has become the first financial jurisdiction in Central Asia to receive such a high ranking in this assessment.

SFIT is situated on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul and covers an area of 6,000 hectares. It operates under the principles of English common law and offers residents a special legal and tax regime.

Among the first residents are companies from Switzerland, South Korea, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan and the UAE. A further 30 companies are in the process of registering. The official opening of the territory took place on 3 July 2026, attended by the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov.
