Banks will now compete for large depositors — KSE has launched a “deposit exchange”

The Kyrgyz Stock Exchange has announced the expansion of instruments for institutional investors and the intensification of deposit auctions on its trading platform. Now, development funds, private pension funds, insurance companies, and state-owned organizations will be able to place their free funds in deposits with commercial banks and MFIs directly through the KSE infrastructure.

The day before, a working meeting with representatives of interested organizations was held at the exchange. Participants were given a detailed explanation of the auction mechanism, the procedure for participation, the requirements for initiators, and the possibilities for choosing the most favorable conditions for placing funds.

Acting CEO of the KSE Aida Chodulova reminded that the mechanism has already proven its effectiveness.

"The KFB has successful experience in conducting such auctions. The Ministry of Finance placed 24 billion KGS in banks through the exchange's electronic platform. The auction consisted of three lots with terms ranging from 12 to 36 months, and 12 commercial banks participated. The initiator determines the interest rate and selects the bank with the most favorable terms. This is an effective tool for quickly placing funds and attracting deposits at attractive rates," Chodulova said.

The new format allows investors to quickly allocate free liquidity, choose from a wide range of banks, obtain transparent conditions and market rates, and minimize risks through a standardized platform and competition between banks.

At the same time, access to deposit auctions is only open to organizations that meet a number of criteria, including: having a valid NBKR license, operating profitably for at least two years, having a positive external audit opinion, and having no overdue tax debts.
