The highest prices are set in the Chui region: beef — up to 740 KGS per kilogram, lamb — up to 750 KGS. For comparison, prices in the Naryn region are lower — from 620 to 680 KGS per kilogram.
Regional departments of the Antimonopoly Regulation Service monitor compliance with prices throughout the republic.
‘We set these prices to protect consumers and prevent unreasonable increases in the cost of basic foodstuffs,’ the Ministry of Economy noted.
These restrictions will remain in force until further notice, and the regulatory authorities promise regular inspections of retail outlets.
