09/08/2025, 10:01Farmers in the Aravan district have begun to introduce a drip irrigation system to increase crop yields and rationalise water use. This technology provides plants with the necessary moisture and significantly reduces water consumption.
According to local experts, the new method improves the quality and volume of the harvest, as well as increasing the competitiveness of agricultural products in both domestic and foreign markets. A higher yield is expected this year. With the use of drip irrigation, it is planned to obtain up to 8 tonnes of cotton per hectare, whereas previously the yield was only about 5 tonnes.
Farmers note that drip irrigation not only saves water but also significantly increases yields. In this regard, they plan to introduce this system on other cultivated areas.
Harvesting will begin after 15 September.
