First, he visited the Lagan Canal, which irrigates the Masaliev and Maidan ayyl aiymaks, covering a total of 4,000 hectares of land. Zhumayev then familiarised himself with the activities of the Karavan and Kok-Talaa daily regulation basins (DRBs). Karavan is located in the town of Kyzyl-Kya and provides irrigation water for 700 hectares of land. The Kok-Talaa DRB will provide irrigation water for 1,950 hectares of land in the future.
Zhumayev checked the volume of irrigation water distributed to farmers in the area and familiarised himself with the problems of providing water to the local population.
The Kojokayir Canal provides irrigation for 6,300 hectares of the Masaliyevsky, Maidansky and Markazsky ayyl districts. Due to the wear and tear of the canal, water losses have increased and its capacity has decreased. In addition, due to the development of new lands and an increase in irrigated areas in the above-mentioned villages, problems with irrigation water supply have arisen. To solve this problem, the Water Resources Service has developed a project to rehabilitate the canal, and major repair and restoration work is already underway.
The problem of irrigation water supply to the villages of Maidan and Masaliev in the Isfayram river system is also getting worse. A project is being prepared to increase the capacity of the Ismat canal.
Following the working trip, the necessary measures were outlined to solve irrigation issues and boost agricultural productivity.
Zhumayev instructed the relevant officials to ensure that the local population is continuously supplied with irrigation water throughout the growing season.
