    18 villages in Batken and Talas regions gained access to drinking water

    As part of the project ‘Improvement of water supply and sanitation in Batken and Talas regions,’ construction work has been completed on new drinking water supply systems in twelve villages in Batken region and six villages in Talas region. This was reported by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry.

    The project aims to improve access to safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene for residents of 43 villages in the Batken and 17 villages in the Talas regions.
    In the Batken region, the construction of water supply systems in the villages of Karool, Maidan, Kara-Zhigach, Kara-Kyshtak, Tash-Korgon, Kalacha and two lots in the village of Uch-Korgon has been completed.

    Residents of the Leylek district in the villages of Andarak, Sary-Dobo, Iskra, Maksat and Zhashyk also gained access to drinking water.

    In the Talas region, work has been completed in the villages of Maiskoe, Novodonetskoe, Kenesh and Uch-Korgon, Kok-Kashat.

    Water intake structures, towers, chlorination units and distribution pipelines have been built in these settlements. The systems have been put into operation and provide sustainable access to clean drinking water.
