    In four months, the Batken region received 231.9 million soms from the budget

    In January–April 2025, the Batken region received 231.9 million soms from the republican budget. This was reported by the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.

    Of the total amount, 222.9 million soms were interbudgetary transfers aimed at implementing state programmes and supporting local authorities. 

    The largest part of these funds, 110.8 million soms, was allocated to equalisation transfers. In addition, 29.2 million soms were allocated to subsidise municipal heat supply enterprises.

    The following additional funds were allocated:

    • 39.9 million soms for the development of a master plan for settlements;
       
    • 3 million soms for the implementation of certain state powers;
       
    • 40 million soms for partial (50%) compensation for electricity costs.
       

    In addition, 9 million soms were allocated to compensate for electricity costs for local self-government bodies (ayyl okmotu) in the Batken region.
