The event took place on May 16 at the Aurora Business Center with support from Freedom Broker.

The Board Case Club is a practical format in which participants analyze real-world business situations through the lens of the functions and responsibilities of the board of directors as the body responsible for the company’s strategic management.
During the case club, participants simulated board meetings, analyzed various crisis scenarios, and discussed decision-making approaches under time constraints and high uncertainty.

Key topics of discussion included reputational risks, business resilience in crisis conditions, crisis management, crisis communications, stakeholder engagement, as well as HR issues and management decisions affecting the company’s long-term sustainability.
Dmitry Metelev served as the project leader. Zhanna Toktosunova and Venera Abdraimova served as the case club coaches.

The organizers noted that the Board Case Club’s distinctive feature lies precisely in its practical approach. Participants do not limit themselves to discussing corporate governance theory but work with cases that closely mirror the real-world practices of boards of directors.

The Chamber of Independent Directors emphasized that holding such events is part of the effort to develop corporate governance in Kyrgyzstan, strengthen the institution of independent directors, and improve the quality of board work.
