Land plot worth 146 million KGS returned in Bishkek — prosecutor’s office identifies irregularities

In Bishkek, a 0.63-hectare plot of land worth over 146 million KGS has been returned to municipal ownership. The prosecutor’s office identified violations during its transfer for use.

The prosecutor’s office of Bishkek’s Oktyabrsky District conducted an inspection of compliance with land legislation and discovered violations by the city council during the provision of the plot for use.

The plot in question covers an area of 0.63 hectares and is located on Akhunbaev Street in the Kok-Zhar residential area. According to the supervisory authority, significant deviations from legal requirements were made during the decision-making process.

Following the intervention of the prosecutor’s office, the plot, valued at 146 million 273 thousand KGS, has been returned to municipal ownership. Exactly how the land was previously transferred and who was using it has not been officially clarified.

In recent years, control over the use of municipal land in Bishkek has been tightened. The authorities and supervisory bodies regularly report on the return of plots transferred in breach of regulations.
