Illegal employment of 12 foreigners uncovered in Bishkek

As part of Operation Illegal, the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan uncovered the illegal employment of foreign citizens in the Bishkek Free Economic Zone.

According to the special service, 12 foreigners were in the country on tourist visas but were actually engaged in labour activities, which is a violation of the law.

In cooperation with the internal affairs authorities, the violators were fined under Article 431, Part 1 of the Code of Offences - "Violation of the procedure for stay and rules for employment of foreigners in the Kyrgyz Republic". The total amount of fines was 66,000 KGS.

In addition, the legal entity that illegally employed foreign workers was fined 65,000 KGS under Article 93 of the same code.
