In Bishkek for three months, housing with an area equal to 28 FIFA soccer fields was put into operation

In January-March 2025, according to the National Statistical Committee, 373 individual residential buildings with a total area of 75.3 thousand square meters were commissioned in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. This is 50% more than in the same period last year. According to preliminary estimates, the cost of the constructed housing amounted to 3.23 billion KGS.

Thus, the average actual cost of construction of one square meter of housing in Bishkek amounted to 65 thousand 250 KGS. This reflects the current market realities, including rising prices for construction materials, labor costs and demand for housing in the urban area.

The bulk of the construction was financed by public funds, including charitable assistance from Kyrgyz residents - 81.5% of the total investment. The remaining 18.5% were investments from enterprises and organizations.

At the same time, according to the data on the districts of the capital, the total volume of commissioned individual residential houses in Bishkek in January-March 2025 amounted to 196.5 thousand square meters. This is comparable to the area of almost 28 soccer fields (author's note - a standard FIFA soccer field occupies about 7.1 thousand square meters).

Compared to the same period in 2024 (41.3 thousand square meters), the growth was 4.8 times. Most likely, these statistics include all forms of housing input, including previously built housing.

District Commissioned, thousand sq. m.Growth by 2024Share of total volume
    Leninsky 104,24,7 times 53,0%
    Oktyabrsky 46,15,6 times 23,5%
    Pervomaysky 30,64,6 times 15,6%
    Sverdlovsky 15,63,9 times 7,9%

The greatest contribution to the growth of construction was made by Leninsky district, where more than half of the square meter of housing in the capital was commissioned. As a result, Bishkek accounted for 46.9% of all new housing in the country.
