05/28/2025, 13:04A ceremony was held in the capital to lay the foundation stone for the construction of an underground pedestrian crossing with a car park at the intersection of Chui Avenue and Shopokova Street.
According to Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev, the roads in this area are scheduled to open in 6-8 months, with construction to be completed within two years.
«Bishkek needs multifunctional projects that solve several problems at once. This construction is an example of a project of this scale. We usually receive investments from external partners, but this time we are building with a local company. Four companies participated in the auction, and Tashbolot Holding won. Under the terms of the contract, they will lease the site for 25 years. The lease cost is about 7 million KGS», — said the mayor, thanking the townspeople for their patience and apologising for the temporary inconvenience.
He stressed that the restoration of road infrastructure is a priority:
«We need to fix the roads as soon as possible. We already proved in 2024 that it is possible to do it in one year. And now it is important to take action without delay», — Junushaliyev added.
Nazgul Tyuleeva, head of Tashbolot Holding, said that construction work has been underway for about a month and that about 1,000 workers are involved in the project.
