The EEC discussed the simplification of customs declaration of goods

Grigor Ohanyan, Deputy Director of the Department of Customs Legislation and Law Enforcement Practice of the Eurasian Economic Commission, chaired a meeting of the working group on customs declaration.

The meeting, organised under the EEC's profile Advisory Committee, addressed issues, including those initiated by businesses. Particular attention was paid to simplifying the procedure for declaring goods. In particular, the possibility of excluding the requirements to provide information on the previous customs procedure, document and means of transport in certain cases when exporting goods was discussed.

The experts approved initiatives to optimise the rules for specifying information on containers. This decision is aimed at ensuring selectivity of customs control, automation of data processing and reduction of cases of inspection of goods.

Recall, the procedure for completing the declaration of goods was approved by Decision of the Customs Union Commission № 257 of 20 May 2010. The working group on customs declaration operates on the basis of the decision of the Advisory Committee on Customs Regulation.
