Over 50 kilometres of electric wires will be modernized in the Issyk-Kul region

Reconstruction works of obsolete electric wires are being carried out in the Issyk-Kul region. As part of this initiative, 31.2 kilometres of 0.4 kV aluminium wires have been replaced with modern insulated CIP wires.

Another 22.3 km of such wires will be laid by the end of October. The plan for 2024 includes installation of 53.5 km of CIP wires. A special advantage of CIP wires is their resistance to natural factors - they do not cause short circuits or blackouts in strong winds.

Insulated wires are also less susceptible to snow and ice buildup. Within the 0.4 kV network modernization program, wooden poles installed in the 1960s-1970s and badly worn out are also being replaced. To date, 685 poles have been replaced with new reinforced concrete ones. It is planned to replace another 365 reinforced concrete poles by the end of the year.
