The consignment was delivered via the ‘Ken-Sai’ phytosanitary checkpoint in a passenger car. During the inspection, it was established that the consignment lacked accompanying documents and a phytosanitary certificate.
Specialists from the Jalal-Abad Regional Directorate for Plant Protection, Chemical Control and Quarantine carried out a phytosanitary inspection.
The inspection concluded that the consignment did not comply with the established phytosanitary requirements. In accordance with the law, the melons were returned to Uzbekistan.
Phytosanitary inspections are carried out to prevent the entry and spread of quarantine pests and plant diseases within Kyrgyzstan, as well as to ensure the safety of imported plant products.
