05/18/2026, 11:34The Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers has allocated 300 million KGS to support small and medium-sized enterprises through an interest rate subsidy scheme. This was announced by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Daniyar Amangeldiev.
According to him, the authorities have decided to combine support programmes for the agricultural sector, processing and women’s entrepreneurship into a single mechanism, as access to finance remains the main problem for businesses.
“300 million KGS is a modest sum, but with interest rate subsidies, these funds translate into 2–3 billion KGS in credit resources,” he noted.
Amangeldiev emphasised that the 2026 development programme places particular emphasis on entrepreneurship in the regions. According to him, previously, residents of the regions did not feel the pace of economic growth, as they did not have sufficient access to financial services.
He also recalled that at the end of 2025, the garment industry faced problems crossing borders and delays in cargo shipments, which created difficulties with working capital for enterprises.
