02/09/2026, 10:00As of 31 December 2025, there are 19 insurance and reinsurance organisations operating in the Kyrgyz Republic. Of these, 14 companies, or 74%, are 100% Kyrgyz-owned. Another five operate with the participation of non-residents.
Three insurance companies are wholly foreign-owned. In a number of organisations, the share of non-residents varies from 19% to 77.27%. At the same time, most of the market remains under the control of national capital.
The growth in the share of companies with Kyrgyz participation indicates the strengthening of the domestic insurance sector and national financial infrastructure. This has a positive impact on market stability and the level of public confidence.
