In Kyrgyzstan, the number of profitable enterprises has risen by 66 per cent over five years

In 2025, there were 13,215 profitable enterprises in Kyrgyzstan. Over five years, their number rose by 66.4 per cent — from 7,943 in 2021.

In 2025, the largest number of profitable enterprises operated in the wholesale and retail trade sector, as well as in car and motorbike repairs — 4,000. In 2021, there were 2,210.

Construction came second in terms of the number of profitable enterprises: 1,410 compared with 877 in 2021.

In the manufacturing sector, the number of profitable enterprises rose from 707 to 1,158. In professional, scientific and technical activities, the figure rose from 833 to 1,218.

Significant growth was also recorded in the information sector – from 252 enterprises in 2021 to 549 in 2025. In the hotel and restaurant sector, the figure rose from 124 to 308.

At the same time, the number of profitable enterprises has fallen in certain sectors. For example, in the communications sector, the number fell from 58 to 53, whilst in water supply, sanitation and waste management, it fell from 117 in 2023 to 104 in 2025.
