Kyrgyzstan Aims to Reduce the Time for Issuing Excise Stamps to One Day

Business owners will be able to receive decisions on the issuance of excise stamps within one business day instead of three to five. To achieve this, the authorities plan to transition the application process to an electronic format.

The reform was launched as part of the 100-day “Government Accelerators” program. This was announced on October 26 following a staff meeting led by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev.

Currently, entrepreneurs have to visit tax authorities three to four times to submit paper documents. Approximately 1,200 applications are received nationwide each month.

The authorities plan to allow applications to be submitted through the “Taxpayer’s Account,” automate document verification, and establish electronic data exchange between the State Tax Service, OJSC “Uchkun,” and OJSC “ABank.”

Once the system is implemented, entrepreneurs will be able to receive decisions online, without having to make repeat visits to tax authorities.
