04/21/2026, 11:26The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has approved the procedure for state accreditation of secondary and higher medical education institutions. The relevant resolution was signed on April 16.
A key requirement of the document is that all medical education institutions must undergo state accreditation by June 1, 2026. In effect, universities and colleges have just over a month to bring their operations into compliance with the new requirements.
The document was adopted in accordance with the presidential decree establishing a state monopoly on the training of medical professionals. This strengthens control over the quality of education and the authorization of institutions to train personnel for the sector.
The Ministry of Health has been tasked with conducting outreach to the heads of educational institutions and ensuring the implementation of all necessary measures. Funding for these activities will be provided within the ministry’s approved budget.
Oversight of the resolution’s implementation has been entrusted to the Presidential Administration.
