Kyrgyzstan has extended and updated support for low-income families with their electricity bills

The President of Kyrgyzstan has signed a decree extending the current support scheme for low-income families with their electricity bills until 1 January 2027.

The main change is the shift from subsidies to compensation. Assistance will be provided to families with children under 16 who receive the ‘uy-bulog kömok’ allowance.

The state will compensate for the difference in the tariff within the established consumption limit:

  • up to 400 kWh per month in summer
  • up to 700 kWh per month in winter

Thus, support is maintained, but becomes more targeted and linked to actual electricity consumption.
