Promising investments in the irrigation sector discussed in Kyrgyzstan

Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic – Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev held a meeting with heads of international financial institutions and representatives of the diplomatic corps on the topic ‘Promising investments in the irrigation sector of Kyrgyzstan’.

During the meeting, participants discussed global challenges in water supply and irrigation development, investment needs in the sector, and identified potential areas of cooperation and ways to solve specific problems.

It was noted that cooperation with international partners has contributed to the introduction of modern water management methods, digitalisation of accounting, increased infrastructure resilience to climate change, and improved water supply to irrigated lands.

In addition, the progress of previously agreed projects in cooperation with the World Bank, the EBRD, the Asian Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank and other partners was discussed. According to the participants, the implementation of these projects will not only improve irrigation and water supply, but will also have a positive impact on the country's socio-economic development.
