In Kyrgyzstan, livestock numbers have grown by 6.6% over five years

At the end of 2024, Kyrgyzstan recorded an increase in the number of main types of farm animals. According to the latest data from the National Statistics Committee, there were 1,828,800 head of cattle in farms of all categories. This is 1.5% more than a year earlier and 6.6% higher than at the end of 2020.

The positive trend continues for horses. Their population reached 553,500 at the end of 2024, an increase of 2% over the year. Compared to 2020, the growth was 2.6%, which indicates the sustainable development of the country's traditional livestock farming sector.

The most noticeable growth was in poultry. Its population reached 7 million 731.1 thousand heads, increasing by 10.6% over the year and by 27.4% compared to 2020. This indicates a shift in focus towards faster and more affordable meat and egg production.
