Public Consultation Announced for Kambarata-1 Hydro Project Environmental and Social Impact Assessment

The Ministry of Energy will hold public hearings on draft documents assessing the environmental and social impact (ESIA) of the Kambarata HPP-1 project.

The document was developed by the contractor SMEC.

The hearings are scheduled to take place in the Toguz-Toro and Toktogul districts of the Jalal-Abad region, as well as at the national level in the city of Bishkek.

The hearings will be held from October 6 in various settlements of the Jalal-Abad region. The final discussion will take place on October 15 in Bishkek.

The Ministry of Energy emphasizes that the document presented is a draft version prepared for public consultation. It is not the final version of the environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) and does not reflect the decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The ministry also promises to take into account all comments and suggestions received in the final version of the report.
