06/02/2026, 16:52A criminal case has been opened in the Talas Region regarding irregularities in the construction of the Aitbaev Secondary School in the Aitmatov District. The case concerns the possible unjustified transfer of budget funds amounting to 4.2 million KGS.
According to the prosecutor’s office, an audit found that officials from the regional capital construction department accepted construction work that had not actually been carried out and entered false information into official documents. On the basis of these documents, budget funds were transferred to the contractor.
The case materials have been classified under the articles of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic relating to abuse of office and forgery in the course of duty.
The investigation is ongoing. The authorities are establishing all the circumstances surrounding the expenditure of budget funds and the circle of persons involved.
