The gap between formal connection and actual reliability of energy supply remains one of the key problems in the energy sector.
The most favourable situation is observed in the cities of Bishkek and Osh, as well as in the Osh, Chui and Naryn regions, where the share of the population with stable electricity supply is significantly higher than the national average. At the same time, in a number of regions, the indicator falls below 60%, reflecting the high wear and tear of the network infrastructure and the limited capacity of the power system.
Experts note that improving the reliability of electricity supply requires accelerated network modernisation, investment in generation and systemic load management measures. Without this, economic growth and digitalisation will face infrastructure constraints.
