In Kyrgyzstan, there are plans to asphalt more than 1,700 kilometres of roads in 2026

The Prime Minister, Adylbek Kasymaliev, took part in events marking the professional holiday for road transport and road maintenance workers.

Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev handed over the keys to more than 50 units of new specialised machinery, purchased for the road sector, to the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

Minister Talantbek Soltobaev spoke about the new specialised machinery, including dump lorries, motor graders and loaders. For his part, Adylbek Kasymaliev noted that modernising the fleet of specialised machinery would help to strengthen the material and technical base of the country’s road sector, facilitate the construction of motorways, and improve the quality and efficiency of repair works.

According to statistics, whilst 648 units of equipment were purchased for the sector between 2010 and 2020, 1,344 units of new equipment have already been procured over the last five years, from 2022 to 2026.

Subsequently, the Prime Minister, Adylbek Kasymaliev, took part in a ceremony marking the professional holiday for road sector workers.

In his speech, he noted that the state’s economic capabilities have expanded significantly over the past five years. Whereas previously around 2 billion KGS were allocated annually to the development of the road sector, in recent years the level of funding has reached 60 billion KGS.

“Over the past five years, a considerable number of major roads have been built. In terms of the volume of asphalt laid across the country, 1,545 kilometres of roads were asphalted in 2025, and this figure will exceed 1,700 kilometres this year. This clearly demonstrates the extent to which the scale of road construction has grown. Today, logistics chains are being restructured worldwide, and countries are opening up new routes to global markets. “I am confident that every consignment passing through Kyrgyzstan as part of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway currently under construction will generate revenue for our country, open up new opportunities for entrepreneurs and create jobs for our citizens”, — concluded Adylbek Kasymaliev.

In addition, as part of the online ceremony, a number of road sections – built and repaired in various regions of the country – were officially opened.
