Drivers who commit a number of violations — such as running a red light, speeding, or driving into oncoming traffic — are now required to take a traffic rules test, and if they fail, they must retake the theory exam.
If a driver fails the on-the-spot test or does not pass the exam within 60 days, their license will be suspended. Retaking the exam will also become mandatory for those who have committed three traffic violations within a year. The only exception is when the violation is recorded by a camera in automatic mode, unless it can be proven that the owner was driving the vehicle.
All processes, from the withdrawal of the license to referral for retaking the exam, will be recorded in an electronic database, on the government services portal, and in the Tunduk app. The new procedure will come into force 10 days after its official publication. The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to approve subordinate legislation within six months.
