Kyrgyzstan is imposing a moratorium on business inspections until the end of 2026

President Sadyr Zhaparov has signed a decree imposing a temporary ban on inspections of business entities. The decree is aimed at supporting businesses, reducing administrative burdens, and improving the country’s investment climate.

According to the decree, the moratorium will be in effect from April 1 to December 31, 2026. During this period, state and local government agencies will not be able to conduct scheduled or unscheduled inspections of businesses, with the exception of certain cases.

Inspections will be permitted only in cases involving threats to the life and health of citizens, national security issues, upon requests from individuals and legal entities, orders from the president and the Cabinet of Ministers, initiatives by the prosecutor’s office, as well as requests from the National Bank and the antitrust authority. Additionally, inspections may be conducted if violations of tax legislation are detected.

The decree notes that one of the goals of the decision is to stimulate production activity, promote innovation, and create new jobs, as well as to enhance the competitiveness of domestic businesses.

The Prosecutor General’s Office has been tasked with ensuring compliance with the moratorium, and the Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to take the necessary measures for its implementation.

The document will take effect in 10 days.
