Kyrgyzstan has seen steady growth in business activity, with the PMI standing at 58.1 points

The Office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic has reviewed the results of the fourth Business Activity Index (PMI) survey, conducted by OJSC ‘Guarantee Fund’ in conjunction with the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the survey results, the PMI stood at 58.1 points, exceeding the threshold level of 50 points. This indicates continued growth in business activity and positive expectations from the business community.

The survey was conducted between 24 March and 24 April 2026. It involved 1,106 business representatives from all regions of the country and various sectors of the economy.

The Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) reflects the current state of the business environment, as well as short-term business expectations. A reading above 50 points indicates an expansion of economic activity, whilst a reading below 50 points indicates a contraction.

The PMI has been conducted on a regular basis since October 2024 and enables the monitoring of trends in the country’s business climate.

The results of the study were presented at a staff meeting of the Kyrgyz Republic’s Presidential Administration as part of a discussion on the outcomes of reforms under the 100-day ‘Government Accelerators’ programme.

During the meeting, the importance of continued support for small and medium-sized enterprises as one of the key factors for sustainable economic growth was highlighted.
