Salaries in Kyrgyzstan have risen by almost 20%, but are still the lowest in the EAEU

In the first half of 2025, Kyrgyzstan demonstrated the highest wage growth among the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. The average monthly nominal wage in the republic increased by 19.6% compared to the same period last year.

The salary amounted to 42,020 KGS, which is equivalent to $481. In real terms, taking into account inflation, the growth reached 11.5% — this is also the best result among the Union partners.

However, despite high growth rates, Kyrgyzstan remains the country with the lowest average salary in the EAEU. For comparison, in Russia it is $1,110, in Kazakhstan — $849, in Belarus — $815, and in Armenia — $753.

Dynamics by EAEU country (January–June 2025):

  • Kyrgyzstan: $481 (+19.6% nominal, +11.5% real)
  • Russia: $1,110 (+14.5% nominal, +4.1% real)
  • Kazakhstan: $849 (+10.7% nominal, +0.3% real)
  • Belarus: $815 (+18% nominal, +11% real)
  • Armenia: $753 (+5.6% nominal, +2.4% real)

Thus, Kyrgyzstanis earn the least among the countries of the Union, but it is here that the highest income growth dynamics are observed. This trend can be explained by the low base effect and the increase in salaries in the budget sector.
