The Kyrgyz Republic has expressed interest in the tourism potential of the Jeti-Oguz region

In the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region, more than 30 kilometres of roads are planned to be repaired, which should improve the tourist infrastructure. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy.

It is noted that tourism plays an important role in the economic and social development of the region.

‘In 2024, more than 58,000 tourists visited the district, and this number is growing every year. Today, there are over 150 tourist farms and more than 10 popular routes in Zheti-Oguz, including mountain tourism, horse riding, hiking and mountaineering. To attract more tourists, it is important to improve the infrastructure,’ the Ministry of Economy said.

There are also plans to modernise the wastewater treatment system, open information centres about the culture of the Jeti-Oguz district and develop tourism through the idea of the ‘Seven Wonders of Jeti-Oguz’.

The Ministry believes that these measures will help to fully unlock the region's tourism potential, create new jobs and improve the standard of living of the population.
