09/16/2026, 12:35Construction has begun in Kyrgyzstan on a modern pharmaceutical warehousing and logistics complex for the state-owned enterprise ‘Kyrgyzpharm’. 650 million KGS has been allocated to the project from the Stabilisation Fund.
On 16 September, a foundation stone-laying ceremony took place in Bishkek, attended by the Prime Minister, Adylbek Kasymaliev.
The 7.1-hectare complex will be built in accordance with international GDP (Good Distribution Practice) requirements. It will be used for the storage, processing and distribution of medicines and medical devices – from receipt through to delivery to healthcare organisations.
According to Kasymaliev, establishing the country’s own logistics base should reduce the number of intermediaries and create opportunities for direct cooperation with major pharmaceutical manufacturers.
At the same time, government expenditure on medicines and medical devices has risen significantly: whilst 100 million KGS were allocated for these purposes in 2021, the figure for 2026 stands at 6.8 billion KGS.
