Under the leadership of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Energy, the reconstruction of the Toktogul Hydroelectric Power Plant, the country's largest power plant, is continuing. The modernisation is aimed at extending the plant's service life, increasing its capacity from 1,200 megawatts to 1,440 megawatts, and installing a modern control system.
Three of the four hydroelectric units have already been completely renovated and put into operation. Work is currently being completed on the fourth unit, including equipment installation, anti-corrosion treatment and safety system configuration.
A dam monitoring system is also being installed and auxiliary equipment is being upgraded. Once all the work is complete, the station will be able to generate more electricity, ensuring a stable supply of power to cities and villages in Kyrgyzstan.
