11/06/2026, 15:37On 6 November, the Prime Minister, Adylbek Kasymaliev, visited a number of construction sites in Osh. These included the ‘Osh City’ IT park, a waste treatment plant, a street undergoing reconstruction, and projects to improve the Ak-Buura River. This was reported by the Cabinet’s press office.
As part of the ‘Osh City’ project, there are plans to build 17,200 flats, three schools, two nurseries, a hospital and an IT hub on a 71-hectare site. The project is expected to create 15,000 jobs.
Major repairs are also continuing on the 5-kilometre stretch of B. Osmonov Street. The road is being widened to six lanes, with pavements and nine bus stops being constructed. The work is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.
Another project is a waste-to-energy plant. Its cost is estimated at $95 million. The facility will be able to process between 800 and 1,000 tonnes of waste per day.
The second phase of the clean-up and improvement of the Ak-Buura River covers 17 kilometres of the riverbed running through the city. 24 million KGS have been allocated for this work. The plan is to remove 63,253 cubic metres of silt, sand and gravel. The section of the river has been divided into four zones for the work to be carried out.
In addition, Kasymaliev visited the ‘Konur-Jaz’ agro-industrial complex, covering an area of 69.76 hectares. It is designed to accommodate 10,000 head of livestock. The project is expected to create 910 jobs.
To supply water to the complex, a 20,000-cubic-metre reservoir and two pumping stations are being built. These will also provide irrigation water for 400 hectares of rain-fed land.
Following the visit, the Prime Minister instructed that work on all sites be completed within the set deadlines and that quality standards be ensured.
