In Osh, the digitalisation of the catering sector has increased tax revenue by 60%

In the city of Osh, the introduction of fiscal software in the catering sector has led to a significant increase in tax revenue — by 60%.

A pilot project to digitise revenue recording for cafés, restaurants and other catering outlets has been running since March this year simultaneously in Bishkek, Jalal-Abad and Osh. Its main aim is to improve business transparency and reduce the shadow economy.

According to the State Tax Service, following the introduction of the new system, tax revenues from catering establishments in Osh have risen by 60 per cent, indicating greater transparency in financial transactions.

The new fiscal system enables cash and non-cash payments to be recorded automatically. All transactions are recorded at the till and transmitted in real time to the tax service’s database, ensuring full control and transparency of payments between businesses and customers.

Osh City Council notes that digitalisation does not place an additional burden on business owners; on the contrary, it creates fairer and more level playing fields for competition. To date, over 95 per cent of the city’s catering establishments are already connected to the new system.
