New potato varieties are being tested in the Osh region

A field day dedicated to crop cultivation was held at the Zhary-Bashy agricultural cooperative in the Chon-Alai district of the Osh region.

The event was attended by farmers, agronomists, agricultural specialists, as well as farmers from various regions of Kyrgyzstan and entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan, which allowed for an international exchange of experience.

During the Field Day, special attention was paid to potato cultivation technology and the demonstration of new varieties of elite reproduction. Potato varieties «Camelia», «Paraz/Diz», «Colombo», and «Riviera» are being tested in field conditions. Participants were provided with practical recommendations, answers to questions, and lively discussions with experts.

The event also included an agricultural seminar that covered topics such as variety selection, disease resistance, yield, and storage technologies.

Such events contribute to improving farmers' agricultural literacy, the correct selection of varieties, and the development of agriculture in the region.

The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry will continue to organize Field Days and experience exchanges to support local farmers.
