05/30/2025, 14:52Deputy Prime Minister Bakyt Torobaev, during a working trip to the Osh region, familiarised himself with the activities of a number of agricultural seed production cooperatives in the Kara-Suu district and held an off-site meeting.
Minister Bakyt Torobaev checked the germination of a high-yield cotton variety grown using drip irrigation on an area of 42.2 hectares with the aim of achieving a yield of 75-90 centners per hectare, and instructed that the benefits of drip irrigation be disseminated among local farmers. The state-owned seed production enterprise Otuz-Adyr has a total area of 245 hectares.
This year, winter wheat was sown on 39 hectares, winter barley on 22 hectares, corn on 58 hectares, perennial alfalfa on 31 hectares, and vegetables and garden crops on 8 hectares. The minister then visited the Oomat Agro agricultural production seed cooperative in the village of Kyzyl-Maneet in the Manas district, where he saw five new grape varieties planted on an area of 3 hectares.
A total of 4,500 seedlings of these five varieties, worth 1.2 million KGS, were brought from Uzbekistan. In particular, 750 seedlings of the Khusayin White variety were planted on 0.50 hectares, and the same areas were planted with the Kishmish White and Kishmish Black varieties. In addition, 1,500 seedlings of the Alatar variety are being grown on an area of 1 hectare.
The Oomat Agro seed farm has a total of 121.23 hectares of irrigated land. This year, cotton has been planted on 97 hectares, winter wheat on 16 hectares, corn on 5.23 hectares and grapes on 3 hectares.
Following the event, the state authorities were given specific instructions to pay special attention to promoting the benefits of drip irrigation among farmers, creating the necessary conditions and providing support, and a number of decisions were adopted.
