Increased Intercity Passenger Services During New Year Holidays

In anticipation of the New Year holidays and weekends, due to the increase in passenger traffic, the Department of Land and Water Transport under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic is implementing additional measures to ensure the stable operation of intercity bus routes.

A sufficient number of buses have been organised, and measures are being taken to ensure the smooth sale of tickets and prevent unjustified fare increases. As a preventive measure, regional authorities have organised duty shifts at bus stations and are constantly monitoring the situation.

From 22 December, 364 regular trips are planned from the Bishkek bus station to the Issyk-Kul, Naryn and Talas regions, and a reserve of 101 buses has been prepared for additional trips. This reserve will also be used from 8 to 12 January 2026. In all regions of the Kyrgyz Republic, carriers and bus station administrations have been instructed to ensure uninterrupted passenger transport and to prevent unjustified increases in fares. Compliance with these requirements is being monitored on an ongoing basis. Press Service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic
