Russia proposes not accepting migrants without knowledge of Russian — Kyrgyzstan will not be affected

The Russian Ministry of Labor has prepared a draft order recommending that employers refrain from hiring migrants who do not speak Russian.

The new measure will affect migrants from countries with which Russia has a visa regime.

At the same time, the countries that supply most migrants to Russia — Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan — are not covered by this document.

According to the Ministry of Labor, the requirements will apply to professions that involve direct interaction with Russians. These include drivers, salespeople, and medical workers.

Earlier, Crimea banned migrants from working in 48 types of activities. According to the head of the republic, Sergey Aksyonov, foreigners are now only allowed to work on the peninsula in construction and tourism.
