An additional building has been under construction at the Sokuluk school for 10 years

Today, 17 June, Toraga Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, as part of a working trip to the Sokuluk district, visited the Alymkul Zhaksylykov Secondary School No. 1, where he familiarised himself with the progress of construction of an additional educational building with 450 places.

Currently, more than 2,400 students study at this secondary school, although the existing building is designed for 750 students. In 2016, construction began on an additional building for 450 students. Approximately 45 million soms were allocated from the republican budget for this purpose. However, in 2017, construction was suspended. Last year, another 22 million soms were allocated to resume construction work, and this year, an additional 5 million soms were allocated. To date, 25% of the project has been completed.

Toraga noted that students should not suffer from the negative consequences of the nine-year delay in construction and demanded that the accompanying heads of relevant departments complete all work as soon as possible.

«Sokuluk is one of the districts located in close proximity to the capital. In addition to local residents, many of our compatriots from other regions live here. Therefore, it is necessary to allocate additional funds and complete the construction», — said Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu.

Toraga also spoke with the school staff.

«Teaching is a noble profession with an educational mission. Therefore, the ministry responsible for education has been divided into two, one of which will now oversee schools and pre-school institutions. Now we need to pay special attention to the development of education. In particular, we must continue to take active steps to create favourable conditions for teachers and build modern schools. The state has sufficient resources to do this», — he said, and provided information on plans to increase teachers' salaries.
