Small and medium-sized companies dominate the construction sector in Kyrgyzstan

In the construction industry of Kyrgyzstan, the vast majority of companies are small and medium-sized businesses. This was reported by Kainarbek Kuluiev, a representative of the International Association of Builders.

He cited data from the National Statistics Committee, according to which 1,443 construction companies were registered in the country in 2024, of which less than 14% were large companies.

The bulk of housing construction is financed by the population and developers' own funds. State investment in housing construction remains limited and shows no significant growth.

Investment flows in the country are mainly directed towards trade, industry, and the financial sector, while the share of construction in the structure of state investments remains relatively low.

The roundtable participants noted that, given the current market structure, any regulatory changes have a particularly painful impact on small and medium-sized developers.
