Liquidity has declined in the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan’s asset structure

By the end of the first quarter of 2026, the asset structure had undergone significant changes. Despite an overall increase, the liquid portion has decreased.

Cash on hand, in banks and other financial institutions fell to 99.31 billion som from 127.30 billion a year earlier. This may indicate a reallocation of resources towards less liquid but more profitable or strategic instruments.

The investment portfolio remains stable. Investments in securities, valued at fair value, amounted to 51.96 billion som, and at amortised cost — 19.99 billion. A slight increase was also recorded in investments in subsidiaries and associates.

In addition, there was an almost twofold increase in fixed assets – to 4.18 billion som – as well as growth in intangible assets. This may indicate an expansion of infrastructure and digital solutions.
