A network of processing enterprises and trade and logistics centres will be created in the Talas region

The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry is continuing its large-scale programme to develop agricultural processing. According to the plan, 385 processing enterprises will be created across the country by 2030, which should increase the level of agricultural processing to 25%.

Based on an analysis of the potential for crop and livestock production in the Talas region, there are plans to open four trade and logistics centres and 21 processing enterprises here. The new facilities will be tailored to the specific characteristics of the region and will ensure the preservation of products, reduce losses and increase processing volumes. The centres will process wheat, vegetables, fruit, milk, meat and wool, and produce oil and feed.

Each district of the region is set to have one modern logistics base (LB) and a number of processing enterprises:

  • Manas district – 1 LB and 6 enterprises;
  • Bakai-Ata district – 1 LBS and 5 enterprises;
  • Aitmatov district – 1 LBS and 5 enterprises;
  • Talas district – 1 LBS and 5 enterprises.

The project covers all districts and aylag aimaks of the region, which will provide future factories with a stable supply of raw materials in accordance with the specialisation of the territory. The measures are expected to reduce agricultural losses, create new jobs and strengthen the position of the regional agro-industrial complex.
