A proposal has been put forward in Central Asia to simplify border crossings for tourists

A proposal has been put forward in Central Asia to simplify the process for tourists passing through border control points across the region’s national borders.

This initiative was put forward by Erdenet Kasymov, First Deputy Director of the State Agency for Tourism.

In particular, it is proposed to create ‘green corridors’ at the border for tourist groups, which would speed up the process of passing through border checkpoints.

Another initiative is the development of a concept for a single tourist visa for the countries of Central Asia. It is envisaged that such a mechanism could simplify travel between countries in the region for foreign tourists.

The proposed measures are aimed at developing cross-border tourism, creating joint tourist routes and establishing a single tourism brand for Central Asia.

Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are also discussing joint measures to develop regional tourism clusters.
